13/9/2019 : PAME releases first "Plastic in a Bottle"

Icelands's Minister for the Evironment and Natural Resources, Guðmundur I. Guðbrandsson, dropped a bottle into the Artic yesterday. PAME (The Arctic Council's Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment) teamed up with the minister, Verkís and the Icelandic Coast Guard, aiming to simulate how marine litter and plastics travel far distances into and out of Artic waters. The bottle is designed and constructed by Verkís.

GRC Annual Meeting and Expo will be held in California USA 15th – 18th of September 2019. The theme of the meeting is Geothermal: Green Energy for the Long Run. Þorleikur Jóhannesson, Mechanical Engineer M.Sc. at Verkís, will participate in a short course with his presentation IDDP wellhead design – Fluid handling at the surface.

Pálmi Ragnar Pálmason and Kristín Martha Hákonardóttir, both engineers at Verkis consulting engineers, presented an overview on the design of fuse plugs in dams in Iceland at the European conference ECSMGE-2019 in Reykjavík, on soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering in September 2019.
