30/4/2021 : Verkís designs steam separator for a geothermal power plant in New-Zealand


Top Energy, a company from New Zealand, has recently been working on the expansion of the Ngawha geothermal power plant in New Zealand. Verkís was responsible for the design of the steam separator, which delivers 99.995% steam quality.


6/4/2021 : Verkis designs school in Sisimiut in Greenland


Verkis and S&M Verkis, a subsidiary of Verkis, have been selected together with KHR architects to design Craft- and Machine school in Sisimiut in Greenland. Verkis and S&M Verkís will be responsible for engineering design.


2/3/2021 : Verkís nominated for international lighting design awards

Stapaskóli Darc verðlaun

Two lighting design projects developed by Verkís have been nominated for de [d]arc awards. The projects are Óðinstorg, in collaboration with Basalt architects, and Stapaskóli, in collaboration with Arkís. The results will be announced later this spring.


7/5/2020 : Many new solutions designing Marriott airport hotel in Keflavik

Aðaltorg Hótel í Reykjanesbæ Marriott keðja

It took only one and a half year to build Courtyard by Marriott by Keflavik airport and now it´s ready to host guests in 150 rooms. The building time was unusually short and engineers had to seek new solutions in the design process. Verkis consulting engineers was responsible for all engineering design and consulting.
