The project, Karmøy Technology Pilot, is supervised by the Norwegian company Hydro and involves the construction of a new aluminium smelter which is the most environmentally friendly in the world. Less energy is needed for production than in any other plant. HRV, owned by Verkís and Mannvits, was a participant in the project from the beginning.
