21/5/2021 : Defence of Critical infrastructure at Reykjanes Peninsula


At around 20:45 UTC 19 March, a volcanic eruption began at Geldingadalur, in Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes Peninsula. In the past weeks, Verkís has worked on projects to defend critical infrastructure, including the mitigation measures (dams) currently under construction.

Sky Lagoon, new lagoon in Kópavogur, Iceland, was recently taken into use and has attracted a lot of visitors in the first days. 


30/4/2021 : Verkís designs steam separator for a geothermal power plant in New-Zealand


Top Energy, a company from New Zealand, has recently been working on the expansion of the Ngawha geothermal power plant in New Zealand. Verkís was responsible for the design of the steam separator, which delivers 99.995% steam quality.


6/4/2021 : Verkis designs school in Sisimiut in Greenland


Verkis and S&M Verkis, a subsidiary of Verkis, have been selected together with KHR architects to design Craft- and Machine school in Sisimiut in Greenland. Verkis and S&M Verkís will be responsible for engineering design.


2/3/2021 : Verkís nominated for international lighting design awards

Stapaskóli Darc verðlaun

Two lighting design projects developed by Verkís have been nominated for de [d]arc awards. The projects are Óðinstorg, in collaboration with Basalt architects, and Stapaskóli, in collaboration with Arkís. The results will be announced later this spring.
