Þeistareykir goethermal power plant
The cornerstone of the Geothermal Power Plant at Þeistareykir was placed on September 23rd.
This marks an enjoyable milestone for Verkís which has been involved in the design and tendering of the 90 MW plant from the onset.
Construction commenced in May 2015, with commissioning foreseen in two 45 MW stages, the first in the fall of 2017 and the second in the spring of 2018.
We wish the Owner of the facility, the Icelandic State Power Company Landsvirkjun, congratulations on this important day for all involved.
