Verkís geothermal expert, lectured about district heating at Cornell University

Þorleikur Jóhannesson, Verkís geothermal expert, was recently invited to Cornell University in New York to lecture about district heating. He tought students in a course on the use of geothermal energy for electricity and house heating.

He was also a keynote speaker at the Mario Eunaudi Center for International Studies to present and discuss lessons from Iceland on the potential of geothermal energy. The roundtable discussion was jointly organized by the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies, the David R. Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future and the Cornell Energy Institute.
