Verkís participates in "Album in a bottle" with Ásgeir Trausti

Verkís is working on a exiting project in collaboration with the musician Ásgeir Trausti, the scientist Ævar Þór Benediktsson and KrakkaRÚV.

Employees at Verkís are designing and constructing a bottle that accommodates a vinyl album with Ásgeir‘s music, which will be then thrown into the sea off the coast of Iceland as part of a worldwide treasure hunt. Expected date for launching the bottle into the ocean is anticipated later this year. Follow the bottle here.

This summer Ásgeir spent a full day in the studio where he recorded music directly on a vinyl record. RÚV did a live broadcast of the recording.

Ásgeir and Ævar visited Verkís and spoke to KrakkaRÚV about the project. „Ævar was watching and listening to the live brodcast, contacted me and from there we started to develop this idea,“ Ásgeir said on Kidsnews at KrakkaRÚV. Ásgeir is very excited for the project and was very pleased to visit Verkís.

The journey of the two yellow messages in a bottle that Ævar and Verkis launched last year had a large following. One ended up in Scotland after a year in the ocean and the other in the Faroe Islands after one year and five months.
