Hydro 2023

The conference HYDRO 2023 was held in Edinburgh, Scotland on October 16-18.

Verkís was represented at the conference by Rut Bjarnadóttir, an energy engineer at the Department of Energy and Industry, and Sólveig Kristn Sigurardóttir, a civil engineer at the Department of Transportation and Environment, who shared a booth with other Icelandic companies under the banner of Green By Iceland.

The conference’s theme was “New ideas for proven resources,” so the majority of the lectures focused on improving and more cost-effective uses of hydropower while better taking into account safety and environmental concerns.

Verkís participation in the conference went well, from the informative lectures that were presented to the fruitful discussions about intriguing and important projects in the hydropower industry.
