Pamukören geothermal power plant

Verkís has assisted the turn-key contractor Atlas Copco during the commissioning and start-up phase of the Pamukören binary geothermal power plant.

Çelikler Jeotermal Elektrik Üretim A.S. is active in the energy, construction and mining sectors. The company has developed the Pamukören geothermal field in the Menderes basin over the past years. The power plant combines five 22,5 MW binary units with a total installed power of 112,5MW.
Testing and commissioning is a crucial element in the development of geothermal power plants as the last step before operation and Verkís’ multi-disciplinary team brings extensive experience in this field. All equipment and systems need to be properly checked and tested to assure that the plant is ready to function in both normal and emergency conditions, in a safe, efficient and controlled manner. Efficient and systematic planning of these activities is the key to successful finalization of projects. Specific emphasis is on planning and coordination of the test and commissioning activities together with the working procedures, including checklists and documentation of test results.
Verkís’ experts participated in the commissioning and start-up activities for the electrical, control and protection systems of the Pamukören I, II, III, IV and V power plants.
