Bergen – Biogas treatment plant

The factory was inaugurated on October 21th, 2016.

The Bergen biogas plant in Bergen, Norway, produces methane gas which is used as fuel for buses in the municipality.

The Bergen biogas plant in Bergen, Norway, produces methane gas which is used as fuel for buses in the municipality. The plant collects sludge from sewage treatment plants in the municipality and produces methane from it. About 42.000 tonnes of wet sludge is expected to flow through the plant each year. When the factory is at full capacity, it can produce methane gas that is capable of running 80 buses.

LOTA – Engineering was a subcontractor for this project. Swedish company Purac was responsible for the design of processing processes and the installation of related equipment.

The factory was inaugarated on October 21th, 2016.

Verkís was responsible for design of construction systems, HVAC systems, sanitary systems, electrical systems and fire safety systems for biogas treatment plant in Bergen.
