Egilsstadir airport is one of four international airports in Iceland.

The Airport was originally built in 1963 – 1968 and renovated and expanded in 1987 – 1999.

Egilsstadir airport is one of four international airports in Iceland. Its importance lies in the flight between Europe and Iceland, the United States and Iceland and flights over Iceland. The Airport was originally built in 1963 – 1968 and renovated and expanded in 1987 – 1999. The airport serves almost the entire area from Vopnafjörður in the north to Breiðdalsvík/Djúpivogur in the south.

Construction of a new airport in Egilsstaðir. A new airport with a single runway, which is 2.000 x 60m, new terminal and service center, 160.000 m².

Verkís services was geotechnical investigations, design of runway, service systems and river diversion, preparation of specifications, contractor negotiations, supervision of construction, cost control and landfill.
